Today was the first time I drove home without constantly monitoring my coolant temp!

Also I washed the Neon. Now it’s totally mint! The crappy paint looks pretty darn good while wet. I need to find a way to keep it always wet lol.

Today I drove home in the Neon and didn’t even run my Torque app to monitor coolant or check engine codes constantly. Yeah I still have the blinking code for the random misfire due to the intake gasket. But I just haven’t committed the time to fixing that yet. Otherwise it’s running great! After swapping a motor mount, I finally washed the car and took some photos. Enjoy!

What a difference I made on the headlights too with some polishing.

Anyways, now I am off to a weekend with a BRZ from Turo! Lol what a crazy time for me, but whatever I’ll enjoy driving whatever I happen to be in.

I saw a white first gen Neon Sport sedan with white wheel covers earlier this week. They really were just sporty little honest cars without looking all angry like the later SRT-4s.

The stripes add an extra 20 hp each.

Nice R/T! I have a soft spot for those. Very fun little machines.

Haha yeah other than the spoiler and stripes on this one, it’s nicely quick without being showy about it. It’s not a fast car, but it gets moving if you drive it right.

Yeah even with me not pushing it too hard (very rare for me!) it’s actually quite an enjoyable vehicle. I think once I fix this random misfire, I can actually push it a bit more and really enjoy it

It sucks that these all got beat into the ground. I know a guy who’s restoring an ACR NYG car. He teases it once in a while when we ride. I hate him for it..

At least these are cheap and easy to work on. I mean I’ve replaced a ton of stuff on this car and not really bled at all because of it. I’ve had more difficulty on my Miata with some of that stuff.
