This weekend the NJ Chapter of the BMW CCA is going down to West Virginia for an event and I’m all signed up and ready.
Has anyone been here? I’ve been watching videos and don’t really know what to expect still. It’s only my second HPDE and my first with the Mustang (and RWD). If anyone is going that’s awesome too and we’ll have to meet up.

Does BMW CCA allow non-owners to their HPDE events? Just curious, I am always wondering what clubs require ownership for HPDE and which don’t. Some allow guests. But like, PCA requires VIN-verified ownership.

The BMW CCA doesn’t require that you have a BMW but, to take part in the HPDE you need to be a club member ($48/yr). When I went with my FiST everyone was cool with it. There were Subarus, Vettes, Porsches, a Ferrari, all different kinds of cars out there having a blast.

It’s a ton of fun, there is nothing to cry about. You can just google them in your area and I’m sure something will turn up.

I’ve done it several times on a bike, never on a car.
The most important thing that you need to know about the Shenandoah course is that there are goddam walls everywhere, with little to no runoff, so take it easy. It’s also very bumpy, and has lots of elevation change. There’s only really one place where you can build up decent speed, at the end of the Back Straight on the map. Everything else is a series of tight turns and chutes.
The facilities are decent. If you need power, there’s plenty available in the paddock. You just go find a spot, then go back to the front gate with the number on the outlet and pay $20 for the key. They give $10 back when you return the key and lock. If you need fuel, they have it onsite, but it’s expensive, around $4 for 93.

Awesome, thank you! It should be a good weekend, we have access to the skid pad as well which should be interesting.
