I just did an internet speed test. Not bad, but DAFAQ? Upload speed twice my download? Does my ISP think I make YT videos for a living?

How do you live?

This makes me actually want to know what the data transfer rate of a 2CV carrying a bunch of hard drives would be.

Is upload speed normally faster than download? Because I could’ve sworn it’s usually the other way around.

A small farming town in Rural Ontario/middle of scum fuck nowhere. Satellite based internet is the only reasonable option, when it gets overcast good luck.

I’m on Wifi with the modem 20-ish feet away through some walls. Watching to some Songify This on YouTube as well. :3

It’s supposed to be the other way around, though it’s also not uncommon for them to swap places like that depending on ISP, equipment, package, and so on...

I guess in the fine print it says that internet speed they promised in the ads is the upload speed, knowing you’ll rarely use it except to upload pics to FB.

Wow, that’s bad. I though my internet was shit.

Can’t be worst than what you got

I don’t hate you, I hate my ISP

There is nothing to like about Comcast but their fast speeds lol. They basically have a chokehold on my area. It’s not a “monopoly” in that you can get Internet from other providers, but if you’re looking for anything north of about 30 mbps you have to bow to Comcast.
![]() 10/03/2017 at 22:28 |
|
They also like to say “up to xx mbps”, which is business speak for “if you try to use your Internet during peak periods we’re going to slice your speeds by 90%!”

HAWT!!!!

It’s a monopoly here where I live. I had 5-1 for the past 10 years now I have 8-1.
I live 7 hours north of Montreal. I live in rural area of a rural region.
Our only telephone and only cable company are basically the same company. Different phone numbers and names, but the rest is the same. Since one owns the other.

It’s from Tshirthell.com
None of the 6 I ordered 10 years ago are there. I didn’t have any really offensive ones.

Yeah, that’s weird.
