Walk out to my car today to find my drivers side door forced down and off the track. They snagged my $100+ e cig and a carton of smokes and like $2.34 in change... assholes.... Great way to start the fucking day.

C’mon man - rule numero uno is to not leave anything of value in your car and, if you have to, at least out of sight. I remember when I interviewed up at Temple in Philly that one of the students told me that if you parked on the street and left a quarter on your dashboard, you’d come back to your window being busted out and the quarter gone.

There’s a certain level of hell reserved for people who f@!k with other people’s cars.

Oh thank God. I resisted asking you, “Why did you leave so much money in your car?...”

ok, that makes more sense, I was wondering what you were doing with $234 in loose change in your car. sucks about the break-in. May the thieves be cursed with chronic flatulence for the rest of their lives.

I get the emergency hooker cash stash, but why in change? I keep my emergency hooker cash stash in small bills.
Maybe my standards are just higher than his as I wouldn’t accept anything below a $1 hooker.

It’s strong everywhere man, super sad. I’m 32 and personally know at least half a dozen people that are already dead via overdose/other drug related complications. I know even more that are still struggling...in/out of rehab/jail. I lose a little bit of empathy each time I hear about someone else.

Ditto, 33 and I know about a dozen that have died in the last 2 years and another handful that have OD in the same time. no one i’m close to. old associates really. it sucks and like you said, each new one brings less fucks I really give.

That sucks. I feel your pain. My truck was broken into years ago. Nothing of value out in plain sight. They stole my head unit, a small knife I kept in the glovebox, an old phone that didn’t really work that I forgot was even in there (Samsung slider phone in the era of either the second or third gen iPhone), and my lunchbox. They didn’t find my wallet that was in the door pocket. They could’ve taken the whole truck because I accidentally locked my keys in it. So, could’ve been worse.

On the bright side they unlocked the truck for you.

They did. And broke the vent window lock while they were at it.

This is true, I make a point not to leave any tobacco product visible in my car. Especially given the car it is...
