We found out why the mini won’t start. A bolt broke when we tried to start and sent the camshaft chain down onto the brake booster. Which in doing that sheared the teeth on another gear. In doing that it caused $1,000 worth of damage. So there goes all my money

“A bolt broke when we tried to start and sent the camshaft chain down onto the brake booster.”
That sounds like a problem only the finest German engineering could create.

OG Mini or MINI?

Lol

Pretty sure it’s a MINI. An OG Mini would have had an electrical problem that wouldn’t have allowed it to try to start in the first place...

Time to upgrade. LSx SWAP!

Only a thousand dollars worth of your money. Your pride is worth far more...

Yeah but I’ve spent all my available money on that car. Car parts cost a lot

Ooh yes

Also an OG Mini’s timing chain would be well below the brake booster, I’d think, being cam-in-block.

You’re ruining my British electronics joke...
Of course, the joke may well BE the British electronics...

Or you could, depending on which generation of BMW Mini it is, make a British AND German electronics AND French mechanicals joke.

You win my star.

No shit. I’ve just spent $3,700 on getting a new clutch and flywheel for a 17 year old VW because I can’t afford the alternative...forgive me if I come across as unsympathetic!

I remember when we had to replace a $1,100 cat on our $1,100 car... My sympathies towards you and your bigly repairs, sir.

Holy crap. I’ve spent twice the amount that I payed for the mini just fixing the car

I bought mine new for forty five grand and have probably spent that much again to get it this far...cars, eh?

Suffice to say, I feel your pain.

Thinking on it. I’m on my last straw with the mini
