Stripped the decklid of its subframe guts, spoiler and hinges. That saved me 35 lbs today for a total savings of 198.5 lbs so far. Naturally hood pins are a must now.
It’s just a rough setup, I’m still fine tuning it’s fit.

Time to replace all the glass other than windshield with plexiglass.

Are you leaving the spoiler off?

Does the ride Height seem taller yet. I took a lot of weight off my beater Civic and it had a noticeable 4x4 stance. I’ll post pics when I get to my ipad

I’m surprised I was able to find so much back there!

Yeah, the hoodpins are in the way now. I may just fabricate a simple metal ducktail one to keep some downforce back there. If anything, the oem one was purely cosmetic anyways.

I haven’t noticed yet, I’m going to have a looksie at it tomorrow. If anything, it shouldn’t be too much since I do have stiffer aftermarket springs on it right now.

A Nascar style ductail would be appropriate on a Baretta.

Pic of said Super lightweight Civic. I can’t wait to get it running again this spring. Most of the weight lost was digging out the mud stuck in the front fenders.

Oh yeah, probably something similar to the one-off Beretta stock car.

That’s awesome! Your Civic “Superleggera” must be a blast to drive. It’s probably as close to a go-kart as you can get!

Unfortunately I haven’t driven it since the last massive weight reduction. It has some electoral problems, most likely do to excess mud hoonage. And the starter stopped working, it ran with a push start for awhile, but would in the fall, right after this picture was taken. I’m thinking the fuel pump crapped the bed.
The next stage of weight reduction will be, fiberglass windshield, as the current one is smashed anyway, and some cheapo plastic bucket seats from Jegs.
