My radio agrees with my assessment of this feature
My car has two orange LEDs in the overhead console that point straight down at the radio panel. They’re not bright enough to illuminate the black interior but they make your hand glow so you can see what buttons you’re hitting.

Pretty sure most modern BMWs have that same feature, and likewise I like that feature.

The Mk2 Skoda Superb had those but they were white and aimed at the gearshift. You couldn’t see them as they were recessed and nor did they light up the centre console but adequately lit up the back of your hand when you reached the gearshift or a centre console button.
It’s a nice feature.

I think most BMW’s and VAG’s have that feature, it’s a nice touch of class.

Nice! E39?
FWIW iirc the old Bavarias had a rudimentary similar feature...small window of white light off the right side of steering column
Reappeared in E39s, maybe, in a more evolved, more helpful and more aesthetic form

My Accord has that.

I think they are a BMW thing, as my car has them as well.
They work great.

I’m still not convinced you’re not me, as my last car was a Neon and now I drive a BMW

Pretty sure your not me. I also have a coupe, not a fine ass sedan.

My Neon was yellow.

I had a green one, then a black one, then another black one.

It’s not just a BMW thing. In 2008 I bought a brand new Civic Si with these orange lights.
