I don’t have a picture of when I had one. It was pre [good] digital. it was a 91 XJ Laredo 4.0 HO 5 speed. White with red stripe, like so.

It’s a Jeep in spirit
2-door, 4x4, manual, straight 6
If you had just that description you’d probably think Jeep first, so I’m counting it

My old WJ pretending to be a boat, and my flat tan XJ, pretending to be a tree or rock or something.

I wish I had my WJ long enough to get stupid with it...
I’ve already almost flipped my XJ out wheeling my buddies JK.

Are we counting things that were pre-Chrysler? Are we counting things that used a “Jeep” engine? 1988 4.2L AMC Eagle Wagon. Still rocking the original block, and 4 speed auto transmission with Select-Drive 4WD. I’d say it’s more Jeep than any 2WD “sport” Wrangler...
This spring I’m pulling the engine and having it re-built and adding a fuel injector kit. Getting rid of the Carter carb and possibly 7 miles of vac-lines.

Our 2001 XJ. 2 inch lift, otherwise stock except for tires. This was taken last year after the trial off-road run after the lift was put on.

Really? I thought you would have been an old school Jeep guy! It is actually a really nice little car, drives far better than I thought it would, has a much nicer interior than expected and when we drove one offroad it was like a rat up a drain pipe with anything we threw at it.

Anything is preferable to deep water. It took me a couple weeks and lots of money to sort the interior out after that little excursion!

I love Old school jeep as much as the next guy, but the Renegade, Patriot and the New Compass appeal to me as really good light trucks and not much different than the XJ was intended for.
but SJ’s, Dj’s and Xj’s get me going the most.

Maybe we should stick to XJs then! I had to chuck the carpet, and drain the spare tire well and cup holders to sort out the WJ... changed all the fluids and filled all the electrical harness plugs with grease, too.

Xj’s are much nicer to deal with.

Here’s 2 of 4 XJ’s that I owned. I probably put 400k+ miles combined on all of them.

1996 Classic. 4.0/AW4, 150k
3" lift, 31" K02s.
I’ve had it for about 5 months now. Still look back at it every time.
