“Hmm, I think today me and me mates are gonna take our 200mph machines and cause congestion in one of the most congested cities in the world”.

Out of curiosity, New York, Paris, Berlin or any other big arse city oppos, is this sort of thing also a normal daily occurrence where you’re at?

Nope, it seems to me that the rich tourists (they seem to be mostly visitors) enjoy doing this sort of thing in London specifically.

You must be talking about London, Ontario.

That would require New Yorkers to actually give a fuck. Pro tip - they don’t.

I was talking to the guys at Carfection about that at the Jalopnik event a few weeks back. They said that Londoners aren’t interested by any of those cars; but if you drive around in a Morgan Three Wheeler, you turn heads like mad. :)

This doesn’t happen in Detroit BTW. But Woodward you’ll see some many-hundred thousand dollar machines every now and then. To be fair though, Woodward is a long stretch of road, and not London. That must suck though.

Bah, I hate those oil prince douchebags that do this. They just travel to foreign cities with their supercars and act like dicks, then quickly take off when they have to face the consequences of their actions.

I think London exists mainly as a money laundering service for that demographic.

I’ve been to all those cities, and many more, never seen anything like that. Closest would be at night in Tokyo. I have seen a few Ferrari, Lamborghinis and Porsches racing through empty streets, but as I try to avoid Tokyo, I’m not certain how common that is. I’ve seen super cars in most all big cities, and many small ones, but never in a big group. I’ve seen a big group of super cars in rallies on the highways, but not in city centers

The closest to a group of super cars in a city center I have seen is Monaco, but it’s Monaco, if you don’t see a bunch of super cars in the city center your blind.

I will say Paris, for a major metropolis, is probably the best city of its size for driving in. I’d say London is the worst for driving in, but to be honest, I’ve only driving in NYC once, and I did it in the evening and early morning. I’ve driven in London twice, but I avoided London center the first time. The second time I was leaving London center and it was mid morning, and the only saving grace was I it looked a lot worse going the other direction, but it still sucked.

No one in New York would give a shit, but there are a whole bunch of rental supercars being driven around the Champ-Elysees area of Paris. Not a lot of revving though, as once again, no one would give a shit. Mostly dudes trying to get girls to go on rides with them. I think they’re only able to convince the English ones.

Can’t speak for any other city besides NYC but I wouldn’t say it’s a daily occurrence, though I have seen it a few times outside of the Gumball Rally meetup.

There’s a company that actually uses supercars to advertise here in NYC. The tourists seem to like it.

If you’re looking for English people let alone girls then Central London is the wrong place.

Sounds exactly like Rodeo Drive in LA, and any of the main streets of Southampton and Westhampton in the summer.

Place was filled with English people last time I was there. Seemed to be about 50/50 men and women. But I never said anything about going to central London to look for english women.

It’s all about the money, some places need it - maybe now more than ever.

It varies too, I know certain parts of the west coast of the US and Canada is inviting to other sketchy monied types looking to escape and flaunt, and I think urban Oz real estate is another haven for similar groups.

Downtown Toronto is the same to a lesser degree. Streets get rowdy whenever a home sports team is playing or there’s a big music event on. So basically weekends.

Some dudes in unoriginal entry Lamborghinis clog up London. The only interesting part is the Mustang at :27

Every once in a while you’ll see some 30-something revving his Huracan in Manhattan traffic but that’s about it in NYC
