Mine is now sufficiently long, so I want to wash it well. What do you guys use (if anything)?

*shrug* I rock a beard from about the end of September ‘til the end of the year, and all I did was wash it with the same stuff I use for my hair (rhymes with Shedding Boulders.)

I just use the same stuff I use on what’s left of the hair on top of my head. What I was told (by a world-famous fashion model, no kidding!) is to rotate between the brands of shampoo on the bottom shelf at the store. She said that more expensive shampoos, such as the brands for which she modeled in their advertisements, are no better for your hair and sometimes worse, although they usually smell better, but for best results switch between shampoos periodically.

HMM, That’s a weird question coming from someone that’s not an Oregonian. Have you tried microbrew or non-GMO coffee with soy milk?
In all seriousness I just use normal shampoo and conditioner and comb some argon oil through it, the argon oil will keep it soft.

I use this stuff. Been for around a year. I’ve not seen my face since 2008. It’s my favorite I’ve used yet. For good hair stuff look at Reuzel. I use their shampoo and pomade... It’s from the scumbag barber guys in Holland.

For about a year, every time I trimmed my beard, there were many gray hairs in it. So I knew it was graying, but when I just looked in the mirror, I couldn’t see it. All the sudden, in the last couple months, it’s like 1/4 gray. Funny how old creeps up on you like that. My mom once told me I had been 40 years old since I was 12, so I guess my face if finally catching up to my soul.

For 40some years I’ve not owned a razor. For that same period, I’ve used a ‘Buff Puff’ like pad and Dr Bronner’s Castille Soaps all over. Peppermint in the summer (tingles the nethers!) and Almond or Eucalyptus in the winter. Formula has changed little in all those years.
And now that I keep my hair short, I tossed out my last comb! #2 guard on a cheap Wahl takes 10 minutes or so to keep my head and beard trimmed.

Hear, hear!
I keep it short, and just use H&S. I can’t deal with long hair anymore (once went 2 years without a haircut...never again...), so ‘beard care’ isn’t something I spend a lot of time thinking about.

The grey on my face started when I was 25, and has now (at age 41) taken over about 30% of my beard. It’s starting to venture higher on my head, and I’m even noticing grey nose hairs. It’s a bit disturbing.

I’m 35. I’ve been seeing grey hairs in my beard trimmings for a couple years, but only recently can I see it when I look in the mirror.
