This is the view on Volvo’s .co.uk website.

Kinja'd!!!

Conspicuously absent are any XC cars.

U.S. lineup

Do you guys not get Cross Countrys? They’re practically all of the wagon sales here in the states. Sweden gets ALL the XC’s; why not the UK?

If you give a Brit an SUV, he’ll just go colonize Africa

I don’t see what you are on about. The UK site has the XC90 and the XC60. The US site just has the XC90.

They’re right there on the left. And the first splash image on the website is an XC60

We get both the XC60 and XC90 (as shown in the pic).

What we don’t get are petrol V90 and S90.

Sorry, not the XCs, the “Cross Country” lifted V40, V60, S60, and V90.

Sorry, not the XC’s. The “Cross Country”s. The XC used to mean Cross Country so I kinda blurred the two.

Well those are because Americans won’t buy wagons unless you deep fry them and call them SUVs.

Seriously speaking though, you Europeans have twice as many lifted wagons so stop shouting at us. It’s really curious that Volvo doesn’t give the UK any.

They’re available too, just not from that dropdown menu. They come up when you go into the build configurator

That’s it, seems weird that they’re not on the main menu though...

It’s the same with Skoda. You select the Octavia, then you select the trim, the plasticy one ‘Scout’, is just a trim of the estate.

Kinja'd!!! Svend > Amoore100

I think we get all those, but they are just trim levels of the base car here.

So odd that it’s different from other countries though...

I think it’s how different countries market there cars.

I’ve looked at a few European sites and thought, ‘that’s odd to have the page set in that way to look at the car’. But I guess it works.

So with the Octy, you can see all the trims from base to business, eco, performance and ‘Scout’ (cross country if you will).

Indeed. I wonder if the new Scouts are half as good off-road as the old ones were ;)

The emergency services seem to of taken to the Mk3 Octys as much as they did the Mk2.

Dutch website below. What’s weird to me as that they haven’t listed the plugin hybrids separately, as they do have a significant market share here. They are listed as an option in the configurator. Odd for Americans, but a car like the regular V60 has 9 engine options (D2, D3, D4, D5, D5 plugin hybrid, T3, T4, T5, T6) and on most engines the option of manual or auto.

No S60 cross country either, but that’s logical. The Cross Country models are rare to begin with compared to regular V models, sedans are rare compared to V models, so a sedan cross country would sell in single digits a year.

That’s so weird that only the V40 and V60 XCs show up and no plug-ins. Consistency is not a strong suit for Volvo global...
