Pic for attention
Also because I’ve been looking and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is on the “surrounding areas” Craigslist when I searched for “Cougar.”
In the near future, my wife is OK with me daily driving a classic car. A small-block Ford can still meet my

because my wife said she’s ok with me daily driving a classic car. She also described the Cougar as “pretty.”

Proceed carefully ... happy wife, happy life. Otherwise she’s reminding you every day about what she’ll call YOUR choice. I’ve been there.

My Cougar love runs more to the mid-80's. Mind you, I would kick your personal fav out of bed.

That looks amazing and seems like a great deal. Don’t like the 3spd auto though. But if your commute has no interstate you might be good.

“You wanted this” blah blah. Then I say: “well you could have told me , NO!”

Do it! I’m not a muscle car fanboy at all, but I absolutely love that gen cougar.

The last time I saw that subject line it was about two chicks at the same time. Old hotrod though is a pretty good second place.

If the gears are the stock 2.73 or 3.08 it shouldn’t be so bad. The trans is either a C4 or FMX so it’s pretty stout anyway. Waiting for tax money, etc to come in before I make the plunge. Also it should only be 2-3 days a week so it’ll be ok.

I learned to drive in an 87 LS with the TBI 3.8 Essex.

She’s a beauty for sure. Not too often a guy can search for a cougar on Craigslist with his wife’s approval.

Searching for Cougars on Craigslist could mean something entirely different, but I’m glad your wife approves of this version of it. A guy in high school had a ‘67 in a very similar shade of blue, a 289 with a 3-speed, as I recall. Needed everything, but I’ve loved their look ever since.

Nice! Love me some old cougar. Thats way cooler than a mustang of the same era. Hope to hear more about it.

The search will be on in the next few months. This particular example is about 2 hours away. Close enough to make a day of checking out the car. The fact that it’s a 68 with a 289 means either it’s a very early 68, or the original 302 was swapped out

“You should have known what I wanted ...!” - because you’re Kreskin! Oh man, I’ve been there so many times.

So I searched CL using “Cougar”. Anyone know how to clear my browser history and stop it popping up in my CL searches?????

Enjoy your throwback ride. I do have Mecury Cougar listings where I live. The problem is they are the ones made after the internet came about. :P

It’s not happening yet. Taxes will pay off credit cards and we will have some money in the bank for a second vehicle. I’ll be looking for a “condition 4" car because that’s the kind of 67-68 cougar that can be bought in my budget. Hopefully I will turn it into a driving restoration project.

My Galaxie has a three speed (FX/Cruise-O-Matic), a 289, and 3.25 gears, and it seems to do all right getting up to speed. I can’t imagine an FMX with 3.08 in a car that’s 600lb+ lighter would be too bad.
