Whenever I see a Smart car the driver is always smiling. I guess that’s why there are so many interesting wrapped Smarts
Come on! this is awesome

You have my interest. :D
I love them so much, I now have two of them! (I really want to get a first gen model so I can have one of each gen, but alas, I have to be an adult.)

That sounds “really” fun. I’m thinking about an old Saab for the body

We have a General Lee smart here too.
i think I just got the joke while reading that.
Generally Smart!!!!
But I know for a fact it’s not the same car since I’m in rural, rural northern Canada.

woman I will fly down there and help you source and engine, kit, and throw it together if you do.

Holy schitt. Well you and probably like half of the Midwest Oppos! I have no idea how I would even star or even how much it would cost. Turnkey kits cost hilariously too much.

difference between (most) midwest oppos, I actually know my way around a bike and can strip it probably a little too quickly for my own good.

Is it sad that I know what wheels and bodykit the car is wearing?
Is it sadder that I know just how horrible that car is to drive with it lowered that much with paper thin rubber?

Hmmm...I wonder how much such a project would cost? I would also need a safer place to do the project, though thankfully I am moving next month. :)

you can get a rough, running haya busa for about 4K if you look hard enough.
$10-15K gets you the whole kit that just needs to be assembled and put in. NEW from a kit maker.

I love that the A-Team one has the proper charcoal grey on the top. Two big thumbs up to that owner.

I agree. That’s the one that inspired the post. Well that and the lady down the street who is always grinning from ear to ear in her Smart

I pity the foo has had to drive that first one while hauling his crew on mercenary adventures.

Idk back when I was delivering for Dominos there was a local pizza shop that bought two Smarts for delivery. The kids driving them always looked miserable.
Actually iirc: I heard that was because the owner disabled/removed the radios in them. Also they would be terrible delivery vehicles in a rural town. There were days my 91 Civic was a bit too small and it had a back seat.
