Kinja'd!!!

You don’t want to be changing a tire at midnight in 10 degree weather after you had already climbed into bed for the night.

Her TPMS light had been on and she forgot to have me check the tires while we were at the shop earlier that SAME day. On the other hand her tread was low anyways and she loves how her new Michelins ride.

Tell them if a lights on, get it checked unless it’s on my Lexus Ls400 because it will end up fixing itself after a day or two anyways.

My wife *can* change a tire but I will still be there changing a tire at midnight in 10 degree weather after I had already climbed into bed for the night.

It was directed more towards avoiding anyone having to be changing a tire at midnight in the first place haha. I could have put more air in it earlier that day.

While it’s definitely good for people to know what the cauldron light is, I also think it’s definitely worth having AAA just to avoid being stuck changing a tire in a dangerous/inconvenient situation.

My gf actually checks her tyre pressure regularly and asks me to check the oil periodically (she cant open the hood for some reason so she wont do it herself). Progress! When she met me we werent yet of driving age and she didnt even know which pedal was which.

Yeah she has AAA but she was 10 minutes from my house at a Church parking lot she pulled into in one of the safest cities in the entire United States and AAA probably would have taken a hour to get there. I left my house at midnight and pulled back in at 12:45

Look at that articulation. lol.

My wife knows how, and won’t even tell me she’s doing it. While I appreciate it, it’s kind of a PITA because she’s all of 125lbs and has difficulty removing the lug nuts, especially if the car has had someone other than me tighten the wheels the last time.

I’m pretty sure she can open her hood but with her car the biggest thing I’m worried about is tires(they’re not tyres). I don’t even check my own oil because I hit my 3500 miles so quickly .

this is an older RX, from a time before NX didn’t exist

Now that I realize how much flex it has I want to take my parents RX400h AWD out to the countryside. It was a pain to jack up.

My fiancés 100 lbs soaking wet and I don’t think she would have known how to do it. I even had to pull up YouTube to find how to release the tire cable because they have everything so tidy and hidden away back there.

Yeah, so Highlander/Kluger. The lastest Harrier moved to the RAV4 platform and is completely unrelated to the RX, which the other ones are based on.

Both are Toyota K: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_K_platform

This is what roadside assistance is for, I ain’t getting out of bed to go help if they don’t know how to do it themselves!

My family knows that it’s usually quicker and over with less drama if they call me instead of AAA. I show up with a jack, impact gun (go battery power!), air compressor and we’re back on the road in minutes.

In Mini land they give you this sketchy half scissor jack.

Don’t forget to teach your kids how to do it too. One of the license requirements in our household is the ability to change a flat. If you can’t change a flat, I’m not taking you to get your license.

My wife knows how to change a tire but if she called me at midnight saying she had a flat I’d still get my ass out of bed to help her cause that’s what a good spouse does.

305,152 miles. Anything above 5k standard oil/8k synthetic is bad, even for a newer car.
