This is a McLaren F1

Do you have the tools to dissect a McLaren F1 in your garage? I sure as hell don’t. Luckily Jay Leno does. That’s a pretty impressive drivetrain. I know he has some very good mechanics working for him, but I wouldn’t have the balls to attempt what he does to that F1. Ferrari owners want documentation for everything proving that it was done at a dealership, by Ferrari mechanics. And “this guy” is dropping the drivetrain out of his Mclaren... At home!

I’m just a little bit jealous

I bet what really happens is....

Typical F1 owners send their cars to the factory for maintenance and repairs.

Jay Leno instead hires McLaren’s F1 specialists to do it all at his place.

I’d be more confident in Jay’s mechanics than the factory ones. They have huge amounts of experience and they’re not in any rush or pressure to get the job done to a budget or time restraint.

Put it in a little perspective. This is a car owned and maintained by Jay Leno. That would actually increase the value not decrease it. Celebrity has it’s perks, but in Jay Leno’s case, he carries a well established reputation beyond simply being a celebrity, that means if he decides to sell it, it will go for a large premium.

Pretty sure that Jay Leno’s team servicing it won’t impact the value. Not that I think Jay Leno cares.

Those calipers look so small in today’s world of “6 pistons or your car is shit.”

From things that have been said before that is almost exactly what happens. That or Jay has a McLaren specialist aid his workers.

I think Jay once said he would never sale the car because he loves it so much. Plus it’s worth a decent bit just being his.
