If I could send our snow your way, I would. I would be content never having to see it ever again in person.

Yeah. I totally had my Initial D CD ready, then looked at the roads they are clear. This morning still looked promising but... now it’s all gone.

I like rain - you don’t have to shovel it and it reduces your traction just enough for easy drifting fun.

only people who don’t frequently get snow say they want snow.

My yard is full of it since mid November, come and get it.

I’ve got a buddy who lives in South Lake Tahoe. I texted him to tell him Jim Cantore was on site, so you know shit’s about to get real. If you see a little Corolla stuck somewhere, give him a hand, hah.

I want snow, we haven’t seen a good blizzard in years. Just a couple inches last night. In NE Ohio the most we ever see in a day is 18-22 in a good storm. Might get deeper if in drifts. It takes that much to look like what you are driving in. I envy you.

I have to plow my yard at least 3 times per week.

Oh yeah I had it in snow up to the mirrors today no issues. Limited Slips help and new snow tires....my STi will still make it through this no problem....other then the snow coming over the hood making it hard to see.

exactly. To be honest, I’m okay with some people being temporary denied access to the public roads, because if you can’t make it to the main roads in your car...should you really be on said main roads at all with their traffic and increased speeds?

Rain can suck it. I work outdoors regardless of weather. Snow makes things a bit more difficult, but you can work around that. Snow falling on me isn’t a big deal. Rain on the other hand soaks through everything and results in shivering and misery

I miss the Subaru for winter duty. The Minis performance in the snow is rather depressing compared to the Outback.

Kinja'd!!!0

It’s funny for the longest time i wanted a 2 door mini but in AWD for the snow....ended up with 2 Subaru’s for snow duty.....there’s a reason every other car in town is one.

Kinja'd!!! TheTurbochargedSquirrel > TahoeSTi
01/10/2017 at 17:16

Kinja'd!!!0

It’s the same thing here in NE. I’m thinking that in 4 or 5 years when I need a more practical car I’m going to end up with either a WRX or a Mini Clubman All4. The Cooper is capable in the snow but I have more fun with AWD.

Kinja'd!!! TahoeSTi > TheTurbochargedSquirrel
01/10/2017 at 17:24

Kinja'd!!!0

Get the WRX trust me......hell just get the STi, the DCCD in full Lock is amazin in the snow, I high centered my STi the other day...but it pulled itself off with only one tire touching the ground and all 4 spinning....Limited slips Front and Rear + Center DCCD is the most amazing drivetrain in anything slippery.

Holy moly. I would love to have one or two 6-12" snows here every winter in Tulsa (we’re supposed to have ice Thursday night), but I don’t think I could deal with volume like that.

The things that always pissed me off about plowing there was:

Salt!

That the trucks always packed the stuff into our driveway, so you’re shoveling a big pile of slush/ice to get to the road.

Kinja'd!!! HammerheadFistpunch > Eric @ opposite-lock.com
01/10/2017 at 17:42

Kinja'd!!!0

Yeah, the salt is the one that kills me (and my truck) the other part isn’t a huge deal as I find its easier to just crush their mounds a few times with the cruiser and all is well.

On General Grabber AT2s, my Outback will maintain forward momentum through drifting snow up to the headlights.

On the stock, bald Contis, I got stuck on flat ground in 3 inches of dense heat cycled snow.

Hey neighbor! I’m fairly active with Caffeine & Gasoline, am on the Car Spotting Tulsa (NO RULES) Fb page regularly, love racing at Xtreme, and try to get out to Hallett a couple times a year. If you see a silver E90 M3 with an OPPO sticker around, that’s me.

I’ve been out to Caffeine & Gasoline a few times over the last couple years and I think may have admired your car (good color). I’ve always liked the sedans best. I was just mentioning to my buddy the other day about getting back over to Xtreme. It’s been forever. And I’ll keep an eye out for you. I’m in a silver MkV GTI with no stickers, but it has an “I’d rather be watching Point Break” license plate frame. Good luck with any ice this weekend. Knock on wood!
