Your thermometer is broken. Why does it say a negative temperature?
![]() 01/08/2017 at 10:26 |

also why does it say C?

Shiet that’s cold. I feel like I’m gonna die at -5°C...

Dans la grand-blanc-nord (in the great white north) Our thermostats need to show about 45 degrees either side of freezing, which is pegged at zero, boiling is 100 and - 40 is just minus 40. It’s the same thing in celsius (centigrade, it just makes so much sense, metric is uncool, but it just makes sense) At this temp, a real -30 without the wind, you can boil water toss it up in the air and it will turn to snow instantly! it’s neat! science/surface tension etc. Pat, it you’re in California, can I come down in the Malibu and hang out at your place?

Soooo damn happy to be living far away from these temperatures now... Fuck that really lol

I’d visit Japan, just to skulk around the crusty old garages I see on here, Can’t drive there though. Japanese snow is fundamentally prettier isn’t it?

Where are you from? That would depend really... It’s similar to the kind of snow you get at Lake Tahoe for example.. very light, comfy, soft... Not at all like in the Alps where it feels a lot heavier and wet.
And what is the problem about driving here?

Why do you live somewhere that cold?

Canada, next county directly to your east. And My honda Fit Probably floats, it’s the salt I’m concerned about.

Met a nice girl from Saskatoon, and when I woke up I had two kids, five cars and a house. I’m actually from Winnipeg, so I was born into this.

In a right hand drive country I’m fequently nearly killed by motorcycles because I look the wrong way crossing the street. But I was more joking about physically navigating the pacific in my Fit sport. Had A friend growing up whose dad swore he emigrated from the Philipines with a big outboard on the back of their chevy astro. (it had a CB radio and 80's future dash it was awesome compared to mom’s 81 reliant k) Dad’s are funny the world over.

Holy shit. How is that even legal?
![]() 01/08/2017 at 11:16 |

That’s only the half of it! In Canada We’re legally required to also jog an additional 5k in French just to keep the Force in balance

I’m in Texas. Land of the Fahrenheit, home of the brave.

makes sense, bigger in Texas. Gotta hit 212 to boil. or it it 213? I forget. Metric makes more sense but has no poetic value. “Hunnerd Miles an hour” just sounds better than 162.2 Kilometers per hour. can’t deny that. We got some open stretches where you can get away with it here too though.

Shit that’s cold. It hasn’t been below 0c for a long time here (south east England) it’s 11c today.

That cluster, do you HHR as well?
![]() 01/08/2017 at 12:38 |

Panel, making some adjustments. SS seats are comfy, regular ones better for 11 hour drives. Disco ball is aftermarket.
![]() 01/08/2017 at 12:47 |

How cheap are the HHR SS now? Seeing that cluster makes me want to make that bad decision now. It’s a ... guilty desire, I guess. (I kind of like how awesome the SS performs, coupled with the amount that everyone hates on the HHR.)

It’s not even remotely an ss, got lucky doing the passenger conversion, found a wrecked ss so swapped all seats. just had the “55" badges lying around. I didn’t think ss panel van was a thing, but apparently they’re out there.

Not sure I’m a fan of the sideways numbers. I thought Canadian cars at least had the mph numbers underneath the km numbers. Can your display switch between metric and regular? Some cars can and some can’t.
![]() 01/08/2017 at 16:14 |

I don’t think this one can. does the miles speedo go to 200? that’s a stretch even in km.
![]() 01/08/2017 at 18:56 |
|
If there’s no second scale, it will have electronic switching.
![]() 01/08/2017 at 20:18 |

There will be a switch somewhere, lost inside a menu of some kind. Check the owner’s manual. With some GM cars you’ll navigate to it through the factory stereo, although I’ve never actually done it in a Cobalt/HHR. The km/h light goes out and a mph one illuminates and the speedo becomes mostly useless.
