2) Charge HR

Kinja'd!!!

Skin started peeling, had syncing and charging issues, but it was beaten every day of its life and still clicked. Definitely in my top three.

1) Blaze

Brand new. Haven’t had much time to play with it, but the fact that I can change the band makes it better than the Charge HR by default.

I have trouble understanding why these are a thing. We’ve had wearable pedometers for many years at a much lower price.

I don’t know about Fitbit, but my Garmin Vivoactive HR does a hell of a lot more than just track my steps. Love this thing.

I got one for Christmas and I have to say, I now understand the hype. For one thing, the pedometer of the FitBit is way smarter than any other pedometer I’ve seen. You can’t trick it into counting fake steps by shaking it or other movements. This morning I was walking around the kitchen while shaking a bag of steak and marinade. I counted my steps in my head, then checked the FitBit when my internal count reached 100. Despite all the shaking and extra movement the FitBit was off by just one step.

Then there’s the extra features and extra categories it tracks. Mine also logs my heart rate, distance traveled, calories burned, and flights of stairs climbed. It can tell when I’m hiking/running/biking/working out and automatically logs them as an individual exercise session. It can even log sleep and in the morning tell me how long I was asleep and how well I slept (how many times I was restless and the duration thereof). Pair it with a phone and you can set goals like steps in a day, calories burned in a day, calories in vs out, amount of time spent active per day/week, etc.

Charge 2, son. Most of the perks of the Blaze but without the bulk.

I have a Garmin vivoactive hr that I’m very happy with. Similar features, but also gps.

Thats fair enough, at least they do their job well. I guess with excercise I’m more focused on whether I feel better than whether I’ve hit certain targets. Although I’m sure targets help other folk.
