Well, we all have deeply held beliefs that our own trucks will be the one to rule them all. Though my case for the shorty Hilux is a stong one. I’m guessing the olds-diesel gmc trucks will come up, but that was just a shit engine (I know a guy who’s mom’s delta ran like 200,000 on one, and he’ll say otherwise, but it is generally accepted that these were shit.) So what’s the WORST Pickup truck ever?
This is just for ilustration purposes, but somewhere sometime, someone must have gotten the hard-to-fuck-up Pickup truck completely wrong. I’m counting on you guys and girls to show us some wierd shit.
I need to go buy a honda fit battery now, I’m catching up on my oppo instead of leaving the house.

Now for a real contender...
No matter how much I love this thing, as a pickup, it’s idiotic.

Hilux is best and worst, There’s nothiing it cant do or be. I always enjoy when some one borrows it, then complains about the ride and general difficulty of steering it. (go home king ranch, you’re a pussy)

Unpopular Opponion: Most new full-size American pickups.
They’re bigger than what their utility requires and often look very gaudy.
I would not call them ‘the worst in the world’, but certainly a bit silly.

That’s a really tough question, there were a lot of trucks with usually one or two bad aspects, but overall weren’t really “bad trucks”. I might get some hate for this, but here’s my pick. The’06-’08 Dodge Ram 1500. And Specifically the 1500.
Let me make my case. While overall not a terrible pickup, Dodge was well behind the curve, in nearly every area, compared to Ford, GM, and Toyota. The 5.7L Hemi, while really good on power, wasn’t praised for it’s reliability, and these trucks were well known to have weak transmissions. The interiors were years behind the competition, with poor ergonomics, and vast expanses of low quality, creaky plastic. The seats were hard and offered very little support, and the ride quality was easily the worst of the bunch, (lets not even get in to the HD trucks). While they did offer a Quad Cab, no crew cab was ever available on the 1500 (Mega Cab was offered eventually though). These trucks were also very prone to rust, and IIRC had a rear end that was likely to grenade unexpectedly. Once again, not really a “bad” truck overall, but IMO one of the ones to avoid.
The pre-face lift ‘02-’07 gets an honorable mention because they’re essentially the same truck, but personally I feel like the styling on the face lift went the wrong way.
Runner up is the ‘60-’62 Ford Integrated (unibody) Pickups.
While gorgeous looking pickups, I vote these as second due to their tendency to flex under load and either pop doors open, or jam doors shut.

I’m on the fence as to whether or not I even consider the SSR to be a pickup , I classify it as more of a Ute, so while technically it is a “pickup” it’s not a pickup, if you know what I mean.

I can understand that a little, but when it comes to capability they’re better than they’ve ever been. Really most new full-size pickups are the best trucks in the world, but not many people use them as such.

I don’t know what to call it. It’s not really a pickup or ute because that be is tiny, useless and meant only for holding the roof, it’s not really a car because it has a bed rather than a trunk... Most people conclude that it’s a truck so I’ll go with that. And like I said, though I love it it’s bloody useless at being a truck.

As for the best it’s a Ford Ranger.

I don’t think it’s either, since the rear cover doesn’t come off. It’s a large two-seater roadster with a massive, massive trunk.

Good, I wouldn’t want to have to light er on fire and roll er down a hill. (I would also take the ssr, caddy is barf.

Although one problem is that half-ton pickups have a hard GVWR limit at 8500 lbs, and adding more and more crap means that there’s less room for payload in that GVWR.

I’m gonna go with the Lincoln Blackwood, I think. Not a great truck, and an utter failure in the marketplace.
I mean, nowadays everyone does half tons with unusably short beds and very low payload, but they sell somehow.

Well, there’s a few that I hate. Current Tundras are fugly, although the facelift made them less so. First gen Titans are also horrible looking. The worst, however, are jellybean F-150's. They are hideous CHUDs, the interiors were laughably bad, they had that stupid insanely cheap looking porous black plastic frame around the back window, the engines were underpowered, over complicated, and difficult to work on. Fortunately they rusted incredibly quickly. I say fortunately, because they’re mostly gone already, so I rarely have to see them anymore.
