Probably every 20th car is electric where I live, so this pisses me off. You’re seriously too lazy to walk an extra ten feet? I hope they make it illegal to block chargers soon. Treat them with the same fines as handicap spots.

This is how I felt when I had my 335d and people with gas cars would fill up at te diesel pumps while gas pumps were open.

I’d like to see towies take the car to the furthest point from the store and only when they get there, does the owner see the fine (the cost of moving the car) to remove the wheel clamp.

Next question is why are charging stations the first couple of spots?

I’ll admit I parked at one last year at the smiley mountains visitor section. It was at end of the lot and everything was full. I have no shame. ( because it was only spot open, there was no sign saying for charging only, if another spot was open I would have taken that)

I don’t think they should be fined. Do people pay for the charge or are they free?

Either way they put them up front people will park there, they put them in the back, only cars charging will park there.

Isn’t the space in front of the charger open? Or are you saying the CR-V and Quest are parking in EV spaces?

The CRV and Quest are in the EV spaces. I’ll admit it’s poorly marked there, but it’s still hard not to notice the glowing screens on the chargers.

It’s possible it’s just a misunderstanding. I wouldn’t put it past a member of the general population to simply not understand that those spots are for electric car charging.

True, but then again, those spots have been there for about 4-5 years, well before electric cars became as huge as they are now. I do think they need to be marked more clearly, though.

You know what drives me crazy. People who park in fire zones in front of stores and sometimes in crosswalks. They think they are so special and entitled to break the rules because the lazy cretins cant walk a few yards.

How do I not stress over this?

Oh god yes. And the people who ignore the whole “yield to pedestrians in crosswalk” thing. I just keep walking and kick their car if they end up close enough.

I just imagine them hunched over the wheel, mouth hanging open, with the emergency broadcast signal playing from their radio on a loop. They never leave their cars, either. They just go from store to store, living off of other people’s frustration.
