We were the coldest spot in Canada this morning. -33.7°C, -28.7°F.
My block heater outlet’s breaker tripped yesterday afternoon judging from where my block heater timer’s clock stopped. The Jeep hadn’t run for over 12 hours, and it lost some extra heat because I changed the oil right after I shut it off.
Apparently it’s super dark out before sun rise. I think I said something when I noticed I was mostly shooting sound. Kindly ignore any of my other half-awake pre-coffee ramblings as well, please. At least I had the sense to shoot it horizontally.
I was pretty surprised to find out we were the cold spot today. -34 isn’t really all that cold, and I live pretty far south...

It’s only about 16 months old. I walked into Canadian Tire last summer, gave them make and model, and got the cheapest one they had listed. ¯\_()_/¯

... It’s not even what I would call unusually cold. Bottom end of normal for sure, but it’s still not that bad for a clear morning.

I grew up on the prairies so I can’t really compare to the east. Although I imagine Kingston being a lot like Oshawa was when I lived there, people freaking out about -20 windchills while I haven’t even put on more than a hoody for walking around outside.
