Taking [good] wheel suggestions for the cruiser. Mine are getting a little worn in the finish and I suspect they may be the cause of my tire imbalance problems. Looking for something that would look good with the “antique sage” paint (sparkly brown/gray), not cost a ton of money, preferably alloy, have large enough holes for a hilift to work off of.
Suggestions?
Specs are:
16X8
Pattern, 6 on 5.5 inches.
Backset 4.5 inches
offset zero (with an 8 inch wheel)
Chrome is OUT, black is meh.

I think you win.

I love level 8 tracker pros, but they are a little pricy:
FN 5 stars are a great choice because they look a lot like the stock LC wheels but just more modern and cleaner.
Stealth custom series is another obvious choice

Other OEM Cruiser wheels that are in good shape?
![]() 01/04/2017 at 15:41 |

Those aren’t bad...a little more than I wanted to spend, but very nice. I prefer a smooth dished wheel to a flat face wheel generally but I don’t mind these too much.

these are my my style

Hard to beat.

Seek out an identical set (junkyard or craigslist) that’s in much better shape ... Love the stock wheels.

And those seem to be on sale too.
![]() 01/04/2017 at 15:44 |

thats an option for sure.

Happy to help, I think the flat faced ones look cleaner. Bro trucks ruined dished wheels for me, especially the ones with studs around the perimeter of the wheel.

Other suggestion:
![]() 01/04/2017 at 15:46 |

yeah the fake bolt heads are a big turnoff. not as big as a giant start center cap, but yeah.
![]() 01/04/2017 at 15:46 |

Check out the ones I replied to myself with. Very similar style, but $125 apiece.
![]() 01/04/2017 at 15:50 |
|
not bad, they don’t list backspacing on those though...hmmm
![]() 01/04/2017 at 15:50 |
|
I like the general hole design of the level 8, but those fake bolts...booo
![]() 01/04/2017 at 15:52 |

Shows an offset of -10
You can plug your specs in here to see what the difference would be.

F5 is my favourite..
![]() 01/04/2017 at 15:53 |

Well, youre in luck because for half the price, you can have them without the studs:
(You can also see them on my pathfinder)
![]() 01/04/2017 at 15:53 |

right, but no backspacing

Also, these seem pricey but they may accept your wheels in exchange. Not sure if you are interested, but here you go.

Exactly why I spent extra money to get different center caps when I replaced my wheels.
Instead of this:
I got this:
Still a little bro-ey, but the stupid oddball bolt pattern of the GMT360 left me with few options.

wish they would offer a zero offset in an 8 inch, I like to keep the tracking as factory as possible, but +.5 on width with a -6 is pretty close.
![]() 01/04/2017 at 16:05 |
|
yeah, the center cap you got is a major upgrade.
![]() 01/04/2017 at 16:07 |

Pro comp series 69. Basically same wheel in 16x8 with 0 offset.

Huge upgrade. My center caps stuck out way too much so i went capless, never looked back
![]() 01/04/2017 at 16:11 |

these will probably be the winner on price alone.

i hear the road noise on those is really bad.
![]() 01/04/2017 at 16:19 |

They are like wash board roads, once you get going fast enough everything smooths out.

Avoid roads. Problem solved.

I was all keyed up to shout “Wheel Vintiques steelies!” until you said alloy. Now I don’t know what to do with my life.

so there is a guy local to me selling factory 40-60 series wheels like that, but he wants $700 for 4. Um...no.
![]() 01/04/2017 at 17:01 |
|
I like that a lot.

Haaaaaa, nope.

If it’s any consolation, I have a set of Pro-Comps on my 4Runner, and they’ve held up to my abuse quite well. Just don’t get the Pro-Comp tires.

I’d be hard pressed to get too far away from those OEM wheels they just look so good. Maybe have yours refurbished rehabbed? As far as aftermarket:
My friend has a set of these on his first Gen Tundra and they are sharp.

I picked up a set of Method Mesh for my Tundra and really like them:

Will steel 15's clear your brakes? I know you want AL just curious...
![]() 01/04/2017 at 20:30 |

I can get 16x8 steel but I live in rust land
![]() 01/04/2017 at 21:29 |

Yeah I use steel in summer and AL in winter....

Did you decide which wheel you’re going with? I’m in the market for a new set for my 40th too.
I thought these looked pretty good and the price is low too...
I’ve always liked the classics too except the bullet holes seem to be kind of large on the III’s
