Well, two actually. One in each corner of my front porch. It is a Carolina Wren. When it is cool at night they are known to sleep in porch corners. It looks like a little fluff ball. I shall name it Fluffy.
I first noticed these hanging out in the other corner last year, so one of them may be the same bird.

Cute birds. Loud as hell for their size. We had some babies fledge from the birdhouse on our porch. I came home to find them clinging to the window screens.

It does look a bit like a pine cone.

Thankfully no. I would have just burned it down at that point.

Oh wow. No babies with these from what I can tell. Last year I had a male and female in one corner, but this year it is just one in each so far.

Awesome. Same type of bird. Such an odd thing to see but it is pretty neat.

Yep. Hard to tell in the picture but you can see it is fluffed up and has those white spots.

That’s quite interesting bird. Nearly all birds in Finland sleep in utter secrecy. Only large birds that are hanging out in their (open) nest can be seen sleeping. With a really good luck you might see a large owl sleeping during daytime too.
