Looks like I can’t get in a multiplayer lobby in FH3, possibly because my NAT type is set on strict. I tried some basic stuff like restarting the console, haven’t tried restarting the modem yet but I should probably get to that when my room mates are asleep. Anyone have experience with these kind of issues? Sooner or later I will probably call Rogers or Microsoft if the problem persists.

Sharp-dressed car for your time.

Dude we’ve had all kinds of problems with NAT-types going all hte way back to the first FM4 Le Mans race.

Things we’ve found that worked or may work in order of difficulty:

1) plugging your Xbox directly into the wall via Ethernet, directly bypassing your router or modem

2) Restarting your router until it bends to your will

3) Port-forwarding your router

4) Manually assigning a static IP address

5) Do what this rando on Reddit did (haven’t tested and not sure if it works btw, just something else I found a while ago)

6) Killing your firstborn in a blood sacrifice (must be in view of the router, the blood appeases it)

#Shudder# I remember going through this problem and not fondly. I spent weeks faffing about trying to get it fixed before calling my ISP. The solution was port forwarding my Xbox in the end which given how easy it was, made the previous suffering all that worse.

I think step 7 is “profit”...

Yeah that’s a consistent solution that I’m seeing so I’ll get to it soon, I’ll be away this weekend but I’ll see if I can figure it out next week.

#1 is silly because that would mean that you’re disconnecting everything else.

#2 probably won’t do much good.

#3 is part of the actual solution...

...as is #4. And I’d do #4 and then #3, unless you have UPnP enabled on your router (which means the Xbox would do #3 for you, but also creates security issues).

#5 basically just boils down to looking at the network settings and then hard resetting the Xbox, yeah, no.

Looks liked it has been fixed, port forwarding did the job, thanks!

Yep, looks like port forwarding fixed it!
