Facelifted 98-00 LS400 is my favorite Lexus. How do you like it? pros/cons?

Couldn’t have been that hard...
It is a Toyota after all...

Man. That’s a lot of miles.

Pros: 300,000 miles.
Cons: 22 mpg and not a 4wd or sports car which is what I want right now but I will never get rid of this car.

Im somewhere around half way BACK from the moon.

^this. If mine was AWD it would literally be perfect.

Haha. not even halfway there on the 4Runner.

Are we sure this isn’t Matt Farah’s million mile Lexus?

Damnit, I wanted to make that joke...

Between my parents Rx400h and my Ls400 there are 650,000 miles.

But I thought hybrids were all worthless after like 5000 miles because the battery would wear out. /s

Honda batteries are awful and some might last 25,000. Toyota has their Hybrids pretty worked out. The Rx is still on its original.

I think I’m going to try to get a Ls460L AWD or Ls600hL for my daily driver.
![]() 09/28/2016 at 12:43 |

Congrats. I’m just over 10k away from the same milestone.
![]() 09/28/2016 at 12:52 |

I was being sarcastic. People still try to claim that Toyota hybrids kill batteries all the time.
![]() 09/28/2016 at 12:54 |
|
Yeah it’s rediculous. The batteries die just as much/if not less then the transmissions in any FCA/Nissan/maybe GM vehicle and cost about the same.
![]() 09/28/2016 at 12:59 |
|
Is it that the batteries fail or they are unable to hold charge as effectively making the fuel efficiency decrease since the engine needs to run more often while still carrying that weight around? I never thought that the battery issues in hybrids affected reliability.
![]() 09/28/2016 at 13:02 |

Around 200k they start to lose the charge. The Rx battery is not great but it hasn’t failed

Is the 600hl AWD ?
![]() 09/28/2016 at 14:01 |
|
I believe so. The RX we have is majority powered to front with electric drive to rear and you can feel it. I think the 600 is rear engine and electric and electric up front.

Yes. Good. Keep going!
