Went to a car show, saw lots of cool things, took some pictures, posted a few to oppo as comments on others’ posts, and forgot the best picture I took that day, of a rare beast I’d never seen in person before:
It looked even worse than I expected, and I expected it to be bad. Somewhat less horrendous in black on black than the light tops do, I’d imagine. It was an older middle age couple. They seemed happy enough and were sure driving the wheels off it considering what I expect would happen if they rolled.

I’ve come to appreciate its quirkiness.

Between this comment and the guy who mentioned in passing that he has and uses a Zune, I feel like I’ve really broadened my horizons today.

I can’t not hear Doug saying its name when I think of it (which is pretty often, sadly).

What’s a Zune?
(I know what a Zune is)

I don’t get why this gets so much hate yet the Evoque is called “brilliant” in some outlets. It’s basically the same thing, only less reliable.

Probably because Nissan charged $50k for them new. The Evoque is also a useful CUV that can actually carry people and stuff inside, while the crosscab is just a really, really, really bad 370z vert. More expensive and worse in pretty much every way.

The Evoque starts at 53K here
I find both of them pretty bad

I’m honestly still surprised that people don’t see these as often as I do. I live near all the wealthy suburbanites of Atlanta, and there are at least a dozen of them around here.

WAT
That...that’s a shop. I don’t believe you. I don’t believe anyone would look at the crosscab monstrosity and say “Hey, we need to make that too!” I mean...the crosscab is just a bad 370z, now we have a bad and less reliable 370z.
Who is buying these things? Show yourselves. Let us know who you are so we can take your money from you and burn it.

Aaah, I understand your answer now. I wasn’t comparing the Crosscab to the fixed roof Evoque, which is arguably more useful. This is a real thing, and you can buy it right now, at least in Europe.

If I were to guess who actually bought these things, southern suburbanites would have been my second guess after Vegas/Phoenix suburbanites. Either way, it was surprising to see one with Washington plates.
