I have a thing for the mid 90s to early 00s Japanese compact SUVs, like the RAV4 and CR-V, and this morning I got a CR-V loaner!
I think my favorite thing about them are the slightly funky interiors. They feel almost like a small efficiency cubicle. That’s probably not the best description, but I think it gets the point across.
AMA about the car or my odd automotive tastes.

Have you seen what they look like when the siding gets melted?

I got a 2006 CRV, I think it’s a good no frills suv and an improvement on the first one. But the later ones get more bloated and I just wanted a basic truck like vehicle with a cargo area. Shit I got a queen size mattress in it, rear door closed.

I have yet to see one in real life but fixed-roof 2 and 4 door Trackers/Sidekicks are a thing that exist. If I ever saw a cheap manual one for sale I’d jump all over it like white on rice.

but out of curiosity how does a couch do that
![]() 09/27/2016 at 11:14 |

By being on fire.
![]() 09/27/2016 at 11:17 |

I always thought that generation was a bit loud and could use more sound deadening. I have a 2010 as a second vehicle though and it sure can fit a lot of stuff in it for its size.

I like that gen. A few weeks ago I put about 200 miles on a 99 with about 230k on it while volunteering at a car donation agency. For a car that someone basically threw away, it drove very solid. I certainly hope my Subaru is that good when it has that many miles.

I daily an FR-S, which have essentially zero sound deadening, so anything else sounds like a library in comparison. lol

This one has like 189k, and you’d never really guess it. Very clean, very sound mechanically.

I love th both, but th first gen RAV4 takes the cake for me. Just because of that rear bumper integrated into the door for a lower, larger rear opening.

American Rules Football culminated in a win for my team. I was not the arson in this case. Not saying we were not looking for a couch to burn, someone just beat us to it.

In all seriousness its from a previous oppo post. Someone set a couch on fire after some sports event and it did that.

Agreed.
