Enterprise just tried to add the “optional roadside assistance” stuff on the rental when we had to swap it out again. This time they tried to BS that we had it on before. Showed them receipt. Showed we clearly denied. Hopefully he changed it....really done with this shit.
Moral of this: Don’t bullshit a bullshitter.

I’ve got a profile with Avis and it’s prechecked with no extras. Never go to the counter and never an issue and I rent a ton (180+ days a couple years ago).

Went with enterprise when I went to Cali. Service was excellent but final price was a joke. Price online that I booked didn’t include insurance and the many other “fees.” Advertised itself as 35 dollars a day for an economy car. 48 hours later, my bill was jaw dropping.

When I bought my truck the financial dude asked me if I wanted this thing, that thing, etc. I asked “Is there a ‘no to all” option?’”

Hertz did this to me on a full coverage insurance. I said no, she added it anyway, and I didn’t see it when signing. I noticed immediately after signing, and she said I needed to call the hotline to get it taken off.
It took 3 months and arbitration from my CC company to get my $600 back.
Fuck Hertz.

They’re the ones who gave me a car with broken air conditioning for a 10-hour drive across 100+ degree Texas, then laughed when I turned it in: “yeah, they knew it was a one-way rental so they wouldn’t see you again!”
Fuck Hertz.

They’re salespeople, through and through. I’ve interviewed at Hertz and Enterprise and both times, the only thing stressed to me was to make any and all sales goals and exceed them if possible. Don’t take “no” for an answer. There’s a reason I don’t and never have worked for either of those companies.
It was the same when I worked for a cell phone store. Many associates would add products to customers’ accounts without the customers’ knowledge. By the time the customers realized, the associate had already been paid commission on the feature(s) and met their sales goal.

This is why i try to stick with National (same parent company). I decline all that and never have to talk to anyone. It is usually a few bucks more a day but worth it to me.
