Lots and lots of GTI owners. From the exterior it’s just bumpers, lights, badge and wheels. Only way to tell is to look at the VIN or turbo. You can buy “R” branded seats and the silver trim pieces for the interior.

One or two of the local knuckle heads at my VW group have R bumpers in their GTI... it’s an interesting group that I don’t hangout with anymore.
