Me and a friend were in the garage bsing around and then BAM there’s a beaver with water floats barely over treetop.
That’s literally the closest I’ve been to a plane that wasn’t in a museum.

Wait, you’ve never flown? Dude, it’s pretty damn cool when you think about it.
Also, if you ever get a chance, take a ride in a float plane. Take off is terrifying because you don’t think you’ll build up enough speed, landing is great because you stop almost immediately, and the entire flight is just cool. The Beaver I flew in had a little plaque on the instrument panel that basically said “no stunts”.

Those Kenmore Air pilots have some skills - we were watching them earlier in the year take off from Lake Union between all the boats and kayaks.

There’s a bunch of those flying in the PNW. Years ago I flew as a relief pilot in the Caravan amphib out of southern CT into NYC. Landing in the East River dodging river traffic was an interesting experience.

There is one for tours near me in Sausalito, in fact two I think now. I am lucky when I see it take off or land as I pass on the highway.
