Kinja'd!!!

You have to build a drift car, it must be American or at least branded like it is American. You cannot have a Corvette or a Dodge Viper. I should cost 40K or less but it can go up to 50K if you must. You can swap in any sort of engine you like. Bonus points if it isn’t a LS.

I’d take this Crown Vic swap in a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and put some !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on it and go kill tires. Even though that 5.8 is a bad value...

Kinja'd!!!

1.) Buy salvage title Mustang GT.

2.) Dump remaining money into supercharging, the entirety of Maximum Motorsports’ suspension and handling catalog, and copy the front steering/suspension setup of Gittin’s cars to achieve maximum steering angles.

3.) Buy cheap 18x10 wheels with sticky tires.

4.) Kick ass.

Viper engines are about 10k on eBay, which leaves 30k to find a ridiculously inappropriate car to put it into and make it work

Supercharge the SS, rebuild/modify the suspension. Spend the rest on wheels/tires.

I’ve thought about this for awhile and I know what I would do. Feel free to steal this because I want to see this built.

1. Buy a 4 cylinder/Manual Fox body mustang off craigslist for a cheaply as possibly.

2. Gut it. Cage it. Sell interior and drivetrain for dollhairs and reinforce the subframe.

3. 3.5L Ecoboost Twin Turbo from Ford Racing

4. Build motor/trans. Headwork, forged interals, built turbos, meth injection, etc.

5. Tubbed wells/fender flares for fat fitment yo. 18x10/18x12

6. Coils, 8.8 rear, one piece DS

7. Tuning. Lots of tuning.

I want this. All told we’re at $50k depending on tuning costs and how much I do myself. Still, that would be something truly unique.

Why not an LS. Or maybe boosted Viper motor. But also $

CVPI with 6.8 liter 3V V10.

yes, it’ll fit, even though it has the same taller deck height as the 5.4.

oh, and a rear gear swap to 4.10s.

Ok, well let’s start with getting another GTO. Let’s make it a salvage title to save some money.

What’s that about bonus points? Oh, I already have an LS1? Ok, I know that. We’re pulling it out. And putting in an ISV5.0, the Cummins turbo diesel V8 from the Titan.

Step 3? Pretty sure that step 3 is just profit.

It’s got a pretty cool story behind it.

“Enzo Ferrari offering to contribute a 365 GTB/4 (Daytona) V-12 engine to the project, which surely sealed the deal.”

“4.4-liter competition motor with high-overlap cams and big-bore Weber carb”

Here’s two links to the story, and telling you about the car.

I like the emblem on it.

3) get new suspension and such

THIS van..........

Chevy Extended Cargo Work Van - $1200 (West Houston

with a ladder rack, and ladders

Kinja'd!!!

or this one

94 icecream truck - $1500 (San Antonio)

Kinja'd!!!

with TWO 305 small block chevys(that you can get given to you) coupled nose to tail.(coupler would cost around $250-$300 to fabricate) little bit of minor rpm sustainability work.($1500 swapmeet speed parts headers, 4 barrel intakes, swap meet carbs, new camshafts, new springs ) couple an old truck 4 speed behind them(near gimmie $100 for a GOOD one),and some linkages to shift from the drivers’ seat.($200)

Kinja'd!!!

shorten a driveshaft, and fabricate a cradle to keep everything lined up($100in steel) set everything in the frame nice and low to keep the center of gravity down..........

and in.......... for $3700 ish

you can always round up some other engines for a few dollars more, but 305s are throw aways, one thats been mildly helped out can make 250- ish horse/lbft torque.(carefully chosen parts), so two of them together gets you 500 horse/lb ft torque. from a combined 610 cubes..........

you can score a used 454, still running for $300. throw a cam, headers, intake and carb, and make 400 lazy horses.(can make a lot more, but these 400 horses are low stress) it would cost around 700 dollars to add the power to the lazy 454 with swap meet stuff, so double for two..........$1600 two 454s............900 cubes making 800 low stress horsepower/ torques for $2200...........

packaged in either a work van(with full ladders), or an ice cream van( with turkey in the straw playing)...............

It’s cool man. I have discussed the idea with friends before about putting a Ferrari engine in a RWD car, but what car exactly was the biggest hangup. I think it would be fun to do in the Pegasus style. With the candy paint, pinstriping, and body work. :) Hell even do it Lemons style. lol
