Asking Price: $3,000
Miles on the Clock: 78,000
Thoughts?

Does it fit in your driveway?

Does it run and doesn’t it have major rust issues?
If so, that interior (door trim mostly) is an automatic NP.

NP. They’re surprisingly well supported.

That's where the camper goes. Or is it in the yard?

Sell the camper, buy some tents, park the Triumph where the camper is now.

I still think it looks less like a car, and more like a weird boat.

That is truly not the sort of comment I anticipated. I was expecting to hear many words of “pooh, yuck, crapola car, etc.” Though $3,000 did strike me as likely a nice price. Not that I’m about to rush over and buy it...

Nearly every import car with irritating but not insurmountable problems has a specialist that is so good there’s little reason to go anywhere else. With the TR7/8, I’m given to understand it’s the Wedge Shop. With Jag XJ series models, it’s Terry’s Jag. With the old Rovers it’s (mostly) Rover’s North, though they can be a little pricey and sometimes you have to order from Paddock Spares or John Craddock Ltd. across the pond...
Bottom line - traditionally terrible idea cars aren’t terrible if you go in with eyes wide open, and having one that’s been well kept but driven is nearly the perfect situation.

TR8 > TR7.

Buy it and ditch the wheel covers immediately. These get a lot of shit, but they’re fun and easily upgraded.

That’s a good deal, where is it? I may buy it.

NP. Someone here in Houston has been trying to sell the rotting corpse of one of these for like $1500, yours would be a much better purchase.

I’d knock off the “3.” It would be NP then.

The British car guy says...YES. On first glance of course. Spend the $$$ on a HIGH quality inspection and then go for it!

If that’s your thing I would definitely say np.

This one’s just a Turner Engineering longblock away from being a TR8. Mostly.

Though I’m dissed that you didn’t call me on that Math 8 problem...

That is the concensus.

I’m not in the market for this car, but I thought Oppos might find it interesting.

Didn't have time. I just needed to remember how to combine coefficients with variables. I looked up Khan Academy.

I was joking, mostly. I enjoy those calls.
