Sparkling water. I went in to work today at 0900 and found that I only start at 0900 on weekdays, and that I need to work 1800-0300 on the weekends.

We had a shift change on Monday, and for the next month I have Monday and Tuesday off. On the old schedule I had Saturday and Sunday off, so it was a four-day weekend last week. But I felt sick on Wednesday and called off, making it 5 days in a row.

When I went to work on Thursday I looked like hell, which matched how I felt since I was suffering a major migraine. My supervisor wouldn’t let me leave in that state, and instead called EMS and had me hauled off to the ER for evaluation. After a few hours of darkness and some really good drugs via IV they let me go. I hadn’t fully recovered on Friday, so I took that day off as well.

When I was hauled away on Thursday I left my briefcase in the office, the one that had my new work schedule in it. And because of this I showed up to work 9 hours early today - oops. Better 9 hours early than 9 hours late, right?

Nothing today, but tomorrow I’ll crack into my stash of Great Divide Hoss (pretty much the only beer I drink this time of year) along with some Johnnie Walker Black. They go well together.

Sierra Nevada beer camp. I’ve had the case for awhile, but am only just getting to drinking. There are some interesting fruit flavors in this one.
