So on Saturday I went down to Katie’s Cars & Coffee and saw the sights, which were excellent as usual. And on the way home I stopped at a VW dealer and drove a 2016 CC. And it was fantastic. I didn’t think I would love the DSG so much but it was very good. Also the 2.0L turbo is such a good engine. I didn’t think much of it seeing the numbers but it is a real mover. Super smooth and pulls through the entire rev range. Also loved the interior and it rides well but still maintains a sportier ride than my Jetta. If I had the downpayment ready I would have drove it home. Although I really went to look at Golf Sportwagens. But when the buyback gets here, it is definitely a good contender.
Here are some pics of the Cars and coffee for your time!Sorry I didn’t get more pictures !

I didn’t realize they were still making the CC. I test drove a 2012 2.0T 6MT last year. Absolutely loved it, but the dealer wouldn’t budge on price despite the 30k car having a had a clutch replacement at 22k, which worried me a little about its history.

This. That is a very old design that's surely die for a replacement soon. I love the style of the earlier ones too so I would buy one of those instead of what I'm scared to presume is over 35k

The R-Line looks even better, and some years it was available with a manual. I though would prefer the 280hp VR6.

I checked out a used CC a few years back and loved it. The interior design is a favorite. Comfortable and cheap, I am a fan (of a used one)

had one in Germany as a rental car. I have to say the car looks amazing and quality isn't bad. however, I was stuck with the weakest 2.0t tdi engine with a 6mt, and that proved somewhat difficult for the CC when hauling around 4 people and luggage. other than that, the CC served as a great road trip car.

Other than the headlamps with the LED bits, doesn’t look much different - inside and out - than the last few years’ models.
I like the newer look of the CC, and the rear camera hidden in the trunk logo. I still hate the low roofline (duh), and the DSG sucks in traffic and parking.

If you’re considering the new CC, you could buy that older model now, or wait for the new one: http://carsspyphotos.net/2018-volkswage… . It’s your choice. The Golf Sportwagen is good for hauling, here is the review I watched:
Not bad, really.

Yeah they sticker for a hefty 35k, but this one being a 2016 clearance, I talked them down to 27k. That is the only reason that I am considering it is that sale.

I have a friend who just haggled 6k off of MSRP on her new Crosstrek. I need some haggling skills.

Guy at the dealer says there will be no 2017 CC so I’m kinda tempted. But they do sticker really high. But the Laborday sale was 27K before taxes

Thats one thing I looked at, and its one thing that scares me it the depreciation since I think they are not very well loved

I really like the SportWagon. Its very practical and I think it will still have a bit of fun in it since I spend so much time in the car, I still want to be able to make my drive a little fun

The depreciation thing is tough for me. It’s hard to anticipate actually keeping a car indefinitely. I mean if you bought any car and kept it forever, depreciation means nothing. But if you wreck it, or trade it in, or sell it due to whatever circumstances, yeah then it’s a toughie.

There is a replacement coming, 2017 probably first in Europe and then 2018 model year for US.
I had one, because of high leasing, the residuals are terrible on that car.
You can pick one up that is 3 years old for around $17,000 or so. Be really careful of buying that car unless you plan on keeping it for a while.
That design except for a minor refresh in 2013 has been around since 2009 in the US. You don’t really want the last of the old breed.

Yeah the DSG is weird in traffic but not as bad as as the broken left leg from sitting in traffic every day in the manual

Yeah I like the price of the used ones for sure, but I am really in the new market. But they really are a deal and a half used

Yeah the R-line looks nice, but they are even harder to find. And cost more. I was really only looking because this one was on a killer labor day / end of year sale

Yeah I like the idea of it as being basically a touring car with 4 doors since there are many days where I will spend hours on the road

The used cars are such a good deal. I love the 2.0t and DSG combo. What’s funny is that lets say you are shopping for a fwd VW car with that combo, you’ve got the GTI, GLI, and CC to shop from; the CC stickers the highest but lots of comparable year and mileage used CCs are cheaper than the GTI and GLI.

I haven’t seen anything today other than some VP got a promotion. I was at the dealership at the end of last week picking up the last of the items from my dealercard and the service manager mentioned there should be some news soon about new models.
He also mentioned that headquarters stopped in with an Alltrack by earlier in the week but he had no date to give me for them arriving on the lot for sale.

Very true. I’d rather have a DSG/PDK than a CVT, though admittedly they are in relative infancy. Heck, there are triple-clutch transmissions in development...
