House 16021 has a Lotus Evora in the garage. (I really don’t know)

House 16021 is best house 16021 because X5 parks on gravel

Affluent? Personally, I live in poverty relative to my neighbors, but even I wouldn’t call that ‘affluent.’ The grass looks horrible, the houses are at least 30 years old, and the road looks pretty deteriorated.
Of course, affordable housing varies wildly from one region to another, but around here, those would be $70k houses.

The HOA receives constant complains from the neighbors regarding House 16021 because of the American Flag, gravel the X5 parks on, and garbage bin being stored outdoors.

Based on the area, these homes could each sell for close to $700k. The one I worked in last week here (not pictured) was total stealth wealth status inside.

But the FP’s pro-HOA people are going to complain to the HOA about Oppo.

Whaaaa!? Washington (if I read the license plates right) is crazy! Out here, the most expensive new houses with a view at the top of a hill cost $250k, tops. That’s just totally nutso.

I live in a very small house in an undesirable area, not really near Seattle at all. If I told you what my home was valued at you’d do a spit-take.

The most popular cars in the rich area near where I live are Hyundai Sonatas. Occasionally they’ll have a 5-series or a Merc GLE, but interesting stuff is very rare.

Someone already did so we got kicked out of the neighborhood.
So we invented a new neighborhood. With blackjack! And hookers!

Probably. We paid $18k for our last house (then completely remodelled it, and sold it for $32k, after 2 years on the market), and just bought 5 acres for $7k, where we built a house this year. Of course we make less here (I think the median income is something like $48k), but wow, how can anyone afford to live there? That’s just insane.

A car with modern electronics and safety features is a whole lot more important than a $750,000 house that could be had for $150,000. They do them, but gotta sort out their priorities. Expensive but old house, or car that’ll protect my family?

But in all seriousness I do like that neighborhood. Reminds me of home. We lived in a middle class neighborhood on a culdesac and it was the same. Nice houses but regular cars. Perfect neighborhood to trap new families into becoming victims of the ‘90s housing boom!

Haha I’m in Wyoming. The cities are still a little spendy (especially Cheyenne, since it’s so close to Denver), but in the smaller towns, the cost of living is really affordable. I just moved away from Torrington, a town of 6,000-8,000 people, with larger cities within 40 miles. It’s not a bad area. Heck, I’ve got a computer shop for sale, and I’ll even train the buyer, if you have the full $79k asking price ;-)

That’s shocking to me
I’m in SW Florida. Home of snowbirds, old people, and crazy bubbles.
Your average 3/2 home is over $200k now. Anything nice is over $350k.
Everything is so congested 8 months out of the year. And it’s hot.
I can’t wait to leave here.

At least when you leave there, you shouldn’t have any trouble selling your home (assuming you own one.) Here it can be hard. It took two years to sell our house, and our business has been on the market that long already, without a single offer. We have it listed for half what it was valued for, but people just can’t afford an investment that large. Or, apparently, any investment. At least computers and phones still break, even when people are poor; the weak economy hasn’t really hurt us at all.

Wyoming. The rural parts are pretty cheap. The parts that recently had mines closed by Obama are even cheaper (but tough to get work.) As long as you’re in an agricultural part of the state, the economy is alright, but the prices are still low. The only expensive parts of the state are the Jackson Hole area (because rich people have vacation homes there), and Cheyenne, because it’s a bedroom community for Denver.

Makes sense that it's even cheaper than my area. Our biggest problem is a resort jacking up prices.

the build year? 1983.
