Really? Weird.

I only had two people interested, although they were very... very interested. Its hard to find clean cars in the rust belt and I let it go for a bargain.

The guy I sold it to had two D2 A8s for spares/parts. He’ll keep it alive.

“Rust belt” - But that’s an aluminum car!

Can I ask how much you sold it for? My friend can always use spare D2 A8s, especially if in black.

Truth, but in general... cars get eaten alive in this state.

My Jeep’s unibody frame is proof.

I’m in Milwaukee. My friend’s 2000 A8 looks fantastic including the steel bolts. I think Chrysler uses the cheapest steel and paint possible.

Audi paint seems to withstand the test of time as well. However, the shocks and springs on my A8 were starting to get pretty rusty. I had to replace at least one rear brake caliper and the other was getting sticky. The rear subframe had some good surface rust action too.

Chrysler paint... lol. Now I’m having flash backs to my 94 Dodge Shadow. MAd weight reduction due to paint peel.

oh you’re right, now that you remind me, his rear subframe was rusty. I think the front something support was rusting too. One of his rear springs actually broke in half while driving.

I had too many Chrysler products due to parental handmedowns. I did the Rust Oleum with a paint roller on the roof of my 91 Caravan- came out nice! But the body rust through sent it to the junkyard when the head gaskets went. NEVER Chrysler products if I ever have a choice. It’ll be a tough choice if I ever see a turbo Caravan for sale though.
