When I moved into this house about a year ago, the dirt driveway ended a couple feet from this tree. Now the grass has taken it back the dirt. I wasn’t aware grass could spread this quick.

Also, I burned my leaves in this exact area, it was a tad scorched, so I’m really surprised that grass is even there. Heck, you can still see the dark spot where I burned the leaves previously.

I’ll probably just leave it, see what happens.

You just need some old cars leaking fluids to stop that grass.

But yeah gravel driveways need to be reclaimed from time to time.

The burned leaves probably helped the grass by releasing nutrients into the soil. A friend of mine burns his garden at the end of every growing season just for this reason.

Agreed - the best way to keep grass from growing is to spend an entire weekend tilling, topsoiling, and seeding that area. Then spend the next six weeks watering it religiously.

It’ll never grow.

Road bond washes out to mostly rock sand, organic material deposits in the rock sand, grass says “I’ll take it!”. The solution is more bond or possibly pea gravel on top, after skimming the grass off.

I figured something like that might of happened honestly. The pile of leaves was the length of the drive way, and it's all being reclaim led. This spot was just the worst.

That makes sense. The reclaimed area is the lowest spot downhill, until the water moves down the walk path.

I’ve found that grass seed is very effective at not growing grass. It doesn't seem to be very good at killing grass though.
