It’s apparently famous enough it has a model but I don’t know what it did. My guess from the Bianchi decal is it was a cycling team vehicle, bikes can load on the back.

Neat. Yeah could very well have been a cyclist team vehicle.

Badass! Now they need to restore it, and make it look brand new again.

They won’t and they shouldn’t! Not many cars with the original hand painted liveries on them. I’m torn sometimes, sometimes if it might hurt the car over time then maybe. But this Datsun is my favorite and should never be touched, it has hand painted numbers that were painted over and over. Beautiful.

F.I.V. Edoardo Bianchi S.p.A made Motorcycles , not bicycles. That’s what this one was used for, assistance of the motorrace team. Close call though!

Ah, I thought it was some kind of transporter, the back of the cab has that round angle for wheels, was my guess.

Not sure if serious but:
“ F.I.V. Edoardo Bianchi S.p.A (pronounced bee-AHN-kee in Italian ) is the world’s oldest bicycle -making company still in existence, having pioneered the use of equal-sized wheels with pneumatic rubber tires in 1885. The company was founded in Italy in 1885 and in addition to bicycles it produced motorcycles from 1897 to 1967. In 1955 the joint-venture Autobianchi was created together with Fiat and Pirelli for the manufacturing of cars – Autobianchi was subsequently sold to Fiat in 1969.”

Yeah, but still: This Alfa was used for motorbike race assistance. that’s what I meant to say. Many (maybe even the most) European motorbike companies started as bicycle shops actually. Makes sense.
I actually have a Bianchi race bicycle ;-)

That’s really interesting and cool. Thank you! Now I’m going down a Bianchi/Autobianchi rabbit hole.
