A while back, I installed an afe axle-back exhaust, and it sounds great. However, on the track, above probably 6000 RPM it makes a whistling noise. Googling the problem didn’t reveal a solution, although it did confirm I’m not the only one with the problem. Here’s a drive-by with the sound towards the end of the clip:

Maybe a bigger exhaust tip to break up the region of higher pressure.

If it's 6000 rpm in any gear it could just be the airflow. The intake and plenum spacer I put on my G both did that. At 3-4k rpm I hear a distinct whistle.

That’s fairly high speed you sure it’s doing that in all gears and not just higher gears aka airflow around the car? *only watched on phone maybe a PC with proper speakers would tell a better story.

It may actually be a speed thing since I never go that fast on the street, but I have been known to rev that high without ever hearing a whistle.

If you have a go pro do some runs mounting it on each corner of the car maybe you’ll be able to isolate the area better. Could be something as simple as a loose plastic shroud that protects the wheel well or something like that.

Don’t know when my next visit to the track will be, but it would be funny to explain to a police officer why I’m going 100+ mph with a GoPro attached. “My car makes a funny sound above 100 and I must diagnose it properly."

That and making sure everything is tight would be my attempt to fix it. I could imagine a flattened gasket vibrating like a reed and making a whistle, which would also explain why it only happens at higher rpms.
