As some of you know, when a new car is purchased on Mighty Car Mods, Marty and Moog go through it an find a bunch of weird shit. I got to do this today with the 633CSi and this is the best I could come up with:
An old pack of Wrigley’s Freedent, complete with 9 unopened pieces of gum. Normally not that interesting until you see how old it is. A year old? 5 years old? 10 years old? Nope.
This pack of gum is 27 fucking years old. It’s been around for 4 years longer than I have. Any of you find something more interesting than quarter century old chewing gum that wont stick to dentures?

The true definer of its age.

My old E24 had nothing exciting in it, but the Q came with two cool documents:
- The original owner’s first parking receipt from when they bought the car in ‘99 - for a jaw dropping $72. That’s over 100 in 2016 cash. The garage was in NYC though and the bill is befitting of the kind of person who’d buy a new luxobarge.
- That same person also kept the receipt from the loan they took out for the car. I’m amazed both of these things survived through the second owner and got to me, so I filed them away for safekeeping.

The next most interesting thing in the 6 was the owners manual. Pages are a little brittle but they look brand new.

Well the copyright for that package design is in 1989. Could be between 89 and whenever they updated.

That’s the only kind of gum my great-grandma ever had around her house. Of course, I am a compulsive gum chewer, so the type available didn’t matter to me. But to this day, that type of gum makes me think of my great-granny.
I bought my 6 new, so it didn’t have anything. But my 3 was a dealership courtesy car, and its center console had a girl’s clip-on hair extension.

Shhhhh, as far as I can tell it lasted until 1997 which makes it at least 19 years old.

I found a stainless steel plaque, custom-engraved with the words JESSICA’S KITCHEN underneath the carpet covering the spare tire.
But I bought the car from a dealership, so there’s no getting it back to the previous owner now.

Do you remember back in the day when cigarette packages had little inserts that gave you points and once you had a certain number of points you could redeem them for prizes? Given the average age on Oppo, probably not. Anyway, I found a bunch of those for Camel cigarettes. If this was 30 years ago I could have gotten myself a t-shirt or something. Also, a dead mouse.

Well, there’s no real reason to think it’s that old, since that’s just the year of the package design copyright, but it is definitely older than 2005, which is when the packaging was redesigned.

I found one round of .45 ammunition in the trunk of one car and a bunch of bank statements including all the packet the bank gives you when you open the account in another.
