How did you already puke an axle in a stock XJ??? And could you not have pulled either the front or rear driveshaft and driven it to the shop on the other axle? I’ve driven my XJ in front-wheel-drive mode (yo) a couple times. It’s fun in a “this is really wrong” kind of way...

I bought it with rod knock on startup and shutdown and diff noise. When I pulled off the diff cover I was expecting to do a bearing job, but instead found this:
Its also a Chrysler 8.25 3.07. Also its a 1995 4.0L 4x4 Manual :)

That’s actually not the worst ring I’ve seen driving around! This will be super neato when you’re done fixing it. Also, both of my 4.0 jeeps knock and they seem to love it!
