I went last year (my dad lives 2 hours north of the D). It was a spectacular experience. The Roadkill dudes signed my White Castle cup.

I highly recommend a purchasing a super size fast food beverage, dumping it out, and refilling it with 24oz frosty adult beverages at your leisure, while walking around. I spent pretty much the whole day walking up and down woodward.

It’s an awesome experience. Truely a special thing that only happens here. If you get out in the morning before 10am on Saturday, you can actually “cruise” a bit. Especially if you stay north of 13 mile road. South of that and it gets pretty wadded up.
I run my two oldest boys out for a little while on Saturday, they love it. 1 and 2 last year, so 2 and 3 this year. Got to start them young.

That's a toughy. Normally, I sit around 14 mile or 15 mile (maple rd), somewhere in between. In one of the many parking lots along the road, preferably by an ice cream shop. Dairy Deluxe (where the pic above was taken), chipotle, hunter house, and oberwise are some of my favorite places to just hang out if I need food. If you're looking to talk to people, I like walking and talking around Pasteiner's/Hawthorne. That's the lot right across the street from Diary Deluxe in the picture.
