This is the exact reason why I can’t stand Fifth Gear, everything is met with a fake sense of preoccupation while the seven trumpets of the apocalypse play over something as stupid as a crash test.
For all its flaws (and there were many) Top Gear would have reacted to that with a laugh and joke.

They’ve got shallow mount bollards (12" install depth) that will handle a K8 rating (15,000lb at 40mph), and I’ve installed ASTM M50 (50mph) cable net barriers. If you want to keep a vehicle out of your facility, there is no shortage of ways to go about doing it.
