Thought the catalytic converter had failed on the e36

Took it off and seems intact, but found some small holes through the welds on the downpipe. No wonder it was noisy. New record for me working on exhausts though, only broke one bolt, usually end up replacing all of them. Picture of said holes. They look shallow in the pic but theyre straight through, you can actually feed wire through them.

Na gave the gooch a rub down and didnt find any holes.
