In what I can only blame on fatigue having worked 37 hours in three days I reached and punched the mirror of a driver who pulled up to yell abuse at me for reasons I am unaware, at roughly 60kmh on my way to work. Don’t worry because instant karma kicked in and I dislocated my shoulder. Somehow popped it back in whilst pulling into my work car park only to have it pop out again as I lifted up my clock on card. This is the stupidest thing I have done in at least a year.

Edit: Obviously this was a shameful lapse of judgement, that has kept me up at nigh since and lead me to discuss not doing ridiculous fucking hours with my boss... Which sounds like I'm trying to shift blame...and now I think I'm rambling because of the painkillers...this happened this week.

Well, that is indeed stupid.

3 days ago I managed to get my hair stuck in the sunroof (long hair + tall + wind + low roof)

I’m going to give this my deal of approval.

A few weeks ago I was at a two way stop that goes into a one-way single lane. As I was going, this guy from the other side pulled into the oncoming lane and skipped past the people in front of him at that stop sign and then tried to intimidate me into letting him get in front of me by inching closer and closer to my car. If I had anything to throw beside my phone, it would have gone through his windshield, but I just flipped him off and told him to get fucked.

Did you have to break out th scissors?

That situation would indeed suck, I can sympathise having long hair myself though not being tall, and usually having tied up and covered because of work conditions. I have once or twice got my hair stuck in the car door though.

1st car i owned when i was 17 was a 94 jeep wrangler. not paying attention and having parked facing the opposite way i normally do in my driveway, i backed up onto the hood of my girlfriends chevy prism. i literally monster trucked it. the original plan was to pull up slightly and back up around her car but i forgot. we were dating for 3 months at that point. 6 years later I’m still with her.

EDIT: i just realized you were looking for recent stories but here i went with my dumbest story ever. enjoy

Nah, just one hair or two got stuck, I do get them stuck on the doors and driver’s window almost daily.

After two 12 hour night shifts and my inability to sleep during the day, I went to get lunch. I backed my car into a tree. In my own driveway. In a car I bought brand new less than 3 months before.

Luckily Fiesta’s are more solid than they look, and no real damage was done.

No driving invloved for me... But having sex in the back seat of a kei-car that belong to my parents in-laws and leaving a stain that stayed visible for a few days and that we didn’t manage to remove ourselves. Witnessing my mother in law wondering what that stain is and trying to clean it up herself was a bit of a “oooh shit WTF moment”.

Probably the one. I posted the experience here as a public service announcement.

just quietly I’ve had virtually zero ongoing repercussion, that I am aware of, the scarring almost fully subsided (I added a new one by slicing my neck open at work, it was considered superficial, but about as close to being fatal while being superficial as you can get, 14 stitches)

My stupidest was when I was in my first year of licensed driving and drove probably a good five miles with the Caravan pegged at a top speed of 119. Nothing bad came of it, but there are so many ways it could have gone very, very wrong.

Yup, I just did some searching and found it again.

Damn that’s lucky. Both initially and afterward. I saw that neck one as well. The image is still burned into my memory.

And remember kids, always wear your seatbelt.

Kinja'd!!!2

So very very wrong.

Reminds me when I was walking to the milk bar, my friend pulls up at the next intersection in an old 351c Falcon wagon, being the show off hoon he is, upon seeing me starts to rip a skid as he turns right onto the road the milk bar is on... Which then immidietly jack-knifes the trailer he was towing into his read quarter panel bringing proceedings to a halt.

After having a good laugh and helping him get unstuck I’m like wtf. Apparently he had literally forgotten he was towing a trailer.

My doctors like. Can’t once you just come in with a cold?

The other time I went in was also a shoulder dislocation. From throwing a lemon at the sky (like I mentioned in another post, I’m not always stupid, but when I am, straight to hospital). Not sure on the karma equation though...maybe it predicted the trajectory and it hit a hungry orphan who was allergic to lemons I don’t know

Oh could you imagine? I reach my arm up as it closing, my arm gets stuck, I dislocate my shoulder trying to reach the open button with my other hand..... I always go straight worse case scenario. Great, you have just ruined sunroofs for me forever.

As a much younger and more foolish driver I flew a Mercury Grand Marquis about fifty feet through the air. Thankfully I was wearing a seatbelt so my head didn’t hit the ceiling. Thankfully also that the Panther platform is so resilient... the car had no issues other than hood damage.

Same for me, on my 3rd double shift of 3. I show up to work for 7:00am, the first thing I do is back into the dumpster. Lucky it it only marked up the plastic cladding, not he paint. I only had my Juke 1 month at that point.

About 145 on a Texas back road. Didn’t get caught, but won’t be doing that again. If it’s not on a track, there’s no point, as I discovered much later than I should have.

I was 19 and driving my first car, a 74 Beetle, down the freeway. As I got out of town, I floored it in 4th gear to see how fast it would go... topped out at 88 mph and then the engine immediately lost power and I had to pull over to the side of the road. I checked the engine oil and there wasn’t even oil on the stick. I waited for about 20 minutes for the engine to cool and then hobbled to the next circle K 4 miles down the road and was so lucky to find 30 straight weight oil. It was fine after that but it could have turned out so much worse. I drove that car back another 40 miles the next morning too.

Damn, I miss that car.... such a trooper.

Probably leaving my first prom in my Mom’s Escalade EXT. My date and I raced her friend home. I pegged out the truck at 120, but I swear it kept accelerating a little after that. Did 80-90 through the rest of the town till we got to the after party.... Was not smart.
