I figure this is sort-of the anti-Tavarish article where you buy a nice car and put a little wax and fuses in it and off you go to craigslist for profit.
I ‘bought’(traded for a Mac laptop) a so-s0 90's car with very limited upward payoff potential and lots of deferred everything...and a blown oil seal to boot. I’m going to put an totally unreasonable amount of work and money in ...just to say that my pee-smell is all over every inch of this thing. And profit is already off the table.
But a nicely sorted rx7 is the goal and modest of a goal as it is, it’s more than i’ve ever done, outright, on a gas car. I did build and ride an award winning fully electric motorcycle ...but that’s another story of going out of my way to do things the hard way.
Today at lunch i took the first steps.

Now it’s a mess exploded all over my yard..

Don’t those seals always blow out, and it’s an easy fix.

Oil control rings are one of the top three things that die on these motors: they’re not especially easy to replace unless removing, rebuilding and reinstalling the engine is your idea of ‘saturday’ in which case i have whiskey and pizza and will send my address!
I’ll be forced into taking my time...for me with my schedule and family I’ll be tackling this for about a month(estimate!!!), including adding the new parts on order like new radiator, misc hoses and doing a fresh clutch kit and hydraulics are going in while i have the drive-line out!

That’s as current as it get two days ago when it rained and broke my tent lol.
It’s got a rebuilt with Atkins seals s5 na 6 port. Going 6 port turbo.
This is an old picture from when I drifted it....
Yours looks much cleaner. Mine was a drift rat when I got it. I’d love to have a clean vert with a proper interior lol
