You wouldn’t understand. Got the door off for sanding, primer, and paint. whooo.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

And yes, I’ll go for a drive with the doors off once I get the engine fixed (stuck lifters and horrible oil drain on the turbo)

I always wondered if the doors added to the structural stability of the car. I was tempted to drive my car around with no door on it while I was swapping for a new one. Like I am curious if the handling would feel sloppy or if the subtracted weight would be noticeable.

When closed the doors on the miatas provide minimal amount of chassis bracing via the door bushings, which is why stiffer Delrin door bushings are a popular upgrade, but without doors the car certainly won’t be undrivably bad.

‘Look you stupid bastard, your doors’ off!’
‘No it isn’t!’
‘Yes it is, look!’
‘It’s just a flesh wound!’

Well the driver door is definitely needed for bolstering. My stock seats have no chance of holding me in place during hard right turns. The door is there to keep me in place lol. Since my driver seat leather is rather destroyed anyways, I could use a much better seat!
