!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Factory warranties all maxed out at 4 years/50,000 miles. This has 43,000 miles on the clock and is priced at $38k. Just knowing that this exists nearby for the price of a new XE 25t is comforting. I swear, 500 hp Jags are so cheap! My dream 2011 XJL Supersports are at the same prices as the 2012 XFR and 2011 Mustang GT500s.

I love used Jags. They are luxury cars, sportcars, and project cars all bundled into one convenient inconvenience package! Jaguar builds the best third cars, period!!

And now just dream about how much less you COULD have one for if you went someplace other than carmax

I know! These are $32k with that engine, that mileage, and that out of factory warranty. Hnng, all the 510hp 2011/2012 Jags are getting so crazy attainable now!

i’m assuming he is noting the necessity for a carmax warranty on such a car.

And a great warranty is absolutely a necessity!

if memory serves, last time i spoke to carmax on a similarly priced, similarly powered car, the warranties stretched from ~4k on the low end up to ~9k on the high end.

range is based on years and miles driven.

Wow, I didn’t realize they charged so much. Even $4k over 2 or 3 years is unlikely to be recovered.

My UK buddy had a crap experience with his XFR-S but YMMV.

I have weirdly good luck with cars which may be making me overconfident.

Psh, common allergy for British cars! That’s why you just leave them parked it let them run it out of their systems.

Usually its the oil that leaks out.

maybe it was 3?

you could easily spend that much in a couple of years if the right parts fail. my guess is jaguar labor is somewhere around 150, if not more. and that racks up pretty quickly.

A guy at work had saved up his money to get a new Jaguar. He buys the car and as he’s leaving the dealership the car dies right at the entrance, and still on their lot. He can’t get it started again. The salesman comes out, he can’t get it started. A mechanic comes out, he can’t get it started.

So the dealer swaps that car for another one with similar features. He gets 1 mile from the dealer and the car dies. He can’t get it started again. The sales guy can’t get it started. A mechanic comes out, he can’t get it started. They tow the car back to the dealer.

He sold the car after 1 year. He no longer likes Jaguars.

My favorite part about Jaguars is the lack of logical engineering. Had one on my lot once, if I remember correct a 12 XJ, that had a dead battery.

Now heres the thing, the battery is in the trunk.

The 2010 and older had a spot you could place the key into and unlock the trunk. 2011 and newer, they got rid of this leaving only an electric release on the trunk, which does not work when the battery is dead.

So I get inside the car thinking maybe theres an emergency release somewhere. Nope. Everything is electric; including... THE GLOVE BOX. You know where the owners manual is located. The owners manual that will tell you how to get to the battery to jump this car...

So multiple google searches with incorrect information and finally it turns out theres a hidden jump spot under the hood that you have to CAREFULLY jump because its in a tight spot near various sensitive electronics. The best part, this jump spot is only to release the trunk.

Jaguar = Assholes.
