It looks awesome and drives awesomely too. And you can import one into Canada already, but you’d have to wait until 2023 if you live in ‘Murica.

It blows my mind how many cars use GTI as a designation in the rest of the world, being that the only one here in the states is the VW GTI.

VW GTI is the original GTI (well for me at least)

I’d virtually forgotten Proton existed.
That Satria reminds me of the old 1996 Mazda 323p.

I really like the look of these, but having test driven one I couldnt get over how cheap it felt inside.

I remember these.
It’s the same car as those Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg hot hatches, except this comes at a cheaper price, so it’s better value. Nice car.

Can’t wait to get one here in ‘Murica

No need to wait, you could import one of the many hot-hatches which are already available.
The Peugeot 205 GTi is a great option. It beat Lancias and Audis in the Group B rally days and drives better than the contemporary Golf GTi.
Speaking of Lancia, this Fiat Tipo Sedicivalvole has a 2.0 Lancia Thema engine inside. This again makes it out-perform the Golf GTi of the day.
Would you prefer some more reliable Japanese metal? Daihatsu has the car for you, with their fuel injected turbocharged Charade GTti. It’s great fun.
But yeah, long story short, there’s still some good options out there. :)
