I think the Daewoo Leganza was a very handsome design, and it makes me sad that it wasn’t a better car.
Even the interior is a decent design.
Straightforward, everything laid out the way it should be. Too bad they didn’t have their shit together.

A guy I knew in high school had a daewoo. Don't remember what kind because I rarely saw it. It was broken a lot.

I’m not sure at the wisdom behind a round vent next to a weird triangular vent. It’s like they wanted a vent there but were confused on how to execute it. Maybe it’s minor, but it’s top-center and sort of a focal point of the interior.
And I think the lights/grill of the car are all wrong. It’s the same deal on the Lanos and I don’t think it was ever very attractive. Even if it was by Giugiaro. And what’s the deal with giving the same face to your budget hatch and your upmarket sedan?

I worked with someone who drove a Lanos wagon. It's weird to see people who know nothing about cars with super obscure cars, likely not even knowing they're obscure

The thought of BMW crossed my mind as I wrote that. Perhaps I feel differently about them because:
- All BMWs are premium products, unlike Daewoo where the hatch is super-budget and the sedan is less so
- The BMW face doesn’t look like shit
But I suspect it’s more likely corporate brainwashing and brand bias on my behalf :(

Naaaaa, I agree, Daewoo’s grille was never the best and to me it has always looked like a couple of flared nostrils around the center opening. Combine that with some rounded headlights and the whole thing just looks like a blob. That grille even made the otherwise handsome Magnus (aka Suzuki Verona/Chevy Epica) look considerably worse.
Their new grilles are so much better albeit much more generic. I guess generic beats ugly.

Good point about them being more generic. It’s such a damn shame when a car company tries to be unique but accidentally ends up being hideous. And then they tone it all down for future generations. Other examples include the Ford “Edge” designs of the early 00s and the original subaru Tribeca:
Had an astonishingly short live before it was toned down to:
